Statement
My landscapes capture the essence of light, colors, and atmospheric sensations, conveying the enchantment of life. The primary subjects of my art are Chicago, the Midwest, and Lake Michigan.
Biography
Anna Cherkashina is a Chicago artist who works in oils and acrylics. Anna puts a mix of realism and impressionism into most of her paintings, with her main topics being "en Plein Air", urban and nature landscapes, and waterscapes. Her favorite is to paint in the open air and capture light, colors, feeling of air - the magic of life! The primary subjects of Anna's art are Chicago, the Midwest, and Lake Michigan. Anna works on large paintings in her Chicago studio where she also runs her workshops and art classes. A graduate of Moscow State Art College (2007), Anna is now a member of Palette and Chisel Art Academy of Fine Arts and Plein Air Painters of Chicago. Anna participates in state and local plein air competitions, exhibits and art festivals. Most recently Anna won best of Show in the St.Charles Plein air competition (2024).
